Bethany Baptist Church was organized in 1973 as an outreach of the
Mideast Baptist Conference and the
Baptist General Conference, and remains a congregation committed to living for Christ, with the Bible as our rule of faith and practice.
Only 20 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh, Bethany is located in McCandless Township, a beautiful suburb north of the city. Noted for its warm fellowship and enthusiasm, Bethany has been fortunate in attracting and maintaining a diverse mix of members. The church has an interracial congregation with a wide range of ages, needs and gifts. Active ministries include a weekly women's Bible Study and a monthly Men's Prayer Breakfast. The worship services feature a rich mix of music, and a time of sharing needs and praises in prayer.
Bethany is located on a wooded site, with ample parking. The church has a multipurpose building (built in 1975), with an attached Worship Center (built in 1984). Classroom facilities form the downstairs of the church.
Leadership is through a Board of Elders, affirmed annually at the congregational meeting. Various deacon-led committees and ministry teams are in place. Active in the Mideast Baptist Conference, Bethany has been focusing on the area of financial support and missions, successfully increasing our yearly giving in these areas.
